United States Highway 84
Photographs
US Hwy 84 begins in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, at the intersection with US Hwy 160, and ends around 25 miles south of Savannah, Georgia, at the intersection with US I-95.   In New Mexico, although US Hwy 84 begins as part of three different highways, US Hwy 60/70/84, running westerly through Clovis, where US Hwy 70 breaks off, the mile markers for US Hwy 84 begin at
Fort Sumner, where US Hwy 84 breaks off from US Hwy 60 (at mile marker 327).  US Hwy 84 runs northwesterly from Fort Sumner to Santa Rosa (near mile marker 44), where it joins up with US Interstate 40, at exit 275, and travels westerly.  At US I-40, exit 256, US Hwy 84 breaks off and travels northerly, beginning near mile marker 63, having connected with the end of NM Hwy 219 and creating one continuous road.  US Hwy 84 is a two lane highway (one each way), with a speed limit of 65 mph just north of Fort Sumner to US I-40, exit 277, where it then runs through through Santa Rosa.  It then returns to 65 mph just north of US I-40, exit 256.  Dilia is located at mile marker 78, where the speed limit decreases to 50 mph, and the highway intersects with NM Hwy 119.   The road continues past NM Hwy 119, 451, and 386, with the speed limit increasing to 65 at mile marker 79.  Los Montoyas is located at mile marker 96.  At mile marker 103, the speed limit decreases to 35 mph and US Hwy 84 intersects with US I-25, exit 339, and runs simultaneously to exit 290, where US Hwy 285 also connects and becomes part of the highway.  At exit 284, US Hwy 84 and 285 splits off and runs north through Santa Fe, Tesuque, Pojoaque and then Espaņola.  Approximately 8 miles northwest of Espaņola, US Hwy 84 splits off from US Hwy 285 and continues northwest through Abiquiu until it intersects with US Hwy 64, becoming one highway, until they split just 8 miles from the Colorado border.  US Hwy 84 continues on into Colorado.

of Anton Chico.
