Original July 1947 article.  Although the 1947 event passed quietly on, it wasn't until 1978, when Stanton Friedman started an investigation into the Roswell Incident, that public interest began focusing on Roswell.  On 27 September 1991, the International UFO Museum And Research Center became incorporated in an effort to give the public the information they craved.  In December 1996, the Tourism Association of New Mexico awarded the International UFO Museum And Research Center its coveted "Top Tourist Destination of New Mexico" Award.  Today, it is a clearinghouse for information related to UFOs and the phenomenon surrounding them, including a map of the world sightings, the Jim Ragsdale story, a library, a gift shop, crop circles, ancient cultures and their connections to extraterrestrial life forms, a collection of UFO related comics entitled "The Lighter Side", etc.  Memberships are also available.

The Jim Ragsdale crash site is located off NM Hwy 246.
