This road, located in Magdalena intersecting US Hwy 60 near Mile Marker 112, leads to Kelly, central New Mexico's most prosperous mining town from the 1880s until the early 20th century.  Silver had been mined at Kelly since the 1860s.  In 1903 it became a major source of zinc carbonate, a vital ingredient in the manufacture of paint.   Located 3.5 miles south of Magdalena on NM Hwy 114, Kelly is now a ghost town, but former residents still host a festival every June.  Sorry but no pictures for now but perhaps someday "I'll be back."
